Aishwarya Rai made news when she picked up shades worth 10 Lakh rupees, Asin picked up shoes worth 2 lakhs and now Akshay Kumar has raised a lot of eyebrows when he decided to wear an Italian designer suit worth Rs. 5 lakh for his forthcoming film Kambakht Ishq.

The movie produced by Sajid Nadiadwala has been already declared one of the biggest budget films. It stars Hollywood biggies like Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh Brandon Routh, and Carmen Electra along with apne desi Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

A source from the film’s crew reported, “Akshay was shooting for his introductory scene in the film. Shabina had sent nearly a dozen suits, each priced at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh. But Akshay didn’t like any suit. There was chaos with everybody wondering how to resolve the problem since Akshay was supposed to shoot for the particular scene in a few hours.”

That’s when Akshay and Sabir decided to go shopping. “The scene also has Kareena Kapoor. Kambakkht Ishq also stars a few prominent Hollywood actors. Akshay obviously wanted to look suave so he chose a suit, which was much more expensive than what Sajid had imagined. But Sajid is a magnanimous producer. He and Akshay are quite close. In fact, they went to the same school (Don Bosco, Matunga) where Akshay was one year junior to Sajid,” said our source.

A source close to Sajid, confirmed the story and said, “Yes. This did happen. Akshay didn’t wear any of the suits sent by Shabina. But that’s okay. Such things do happen during film shoots. Akshay chose a superb black suit with a hint of blue. It’s a unique piece.”

All good things come for a price… and Akshay Kumar is getting pricey as he gets good.

Media is rife with rumors about Salman Khan’s spree on Katrina Kaif’s look alikes. However one person who remains unaffected by what media says is Katrina Kaif.

Katrina Kaif’s look alike Zarine is working with Salman in his upcoming flick Veer and Katrina insists that the girl is very sweet.

She says, ” She is so sweet and I helped her with her make-up during her screen test. She is a lovely girl and I hope she does very well. although I do not think she looks like me. But if Salman misses me and wants to work with girls who look like me that is so sweet.”

A source reveals, “Akshay has already done a music video with an international performer (Snoop Dogg for Singh is Kinng). Meanwhile Kareena has struck gold with item songs. So it was felt that she should be in the music video to add a huge luster to Carmen’s expensive music video, to be shot in Mumbai from February 10.”

Kareena also confirms the news, saying, “Yes, it’s true that I’ll be there in the music video with Carmen and Akshay. Since I play a part-time model in the film, dancing would be quite in character.’

Kareena also gives us a peek at her action stunts with Sylvester Stallone, saying, “Just wait and watch what all I’ve done in Kambakht Ishq. I’ll shock the audience.’

Ayesha Takia was supposed to wed restaurateur Farhan Azmi on Christmas Eve but her wedding has now been postponed to mid-2009. All this thanks to the terror attacks in Mumbai.

The groom, Farhan confirmed the news saying,”Ayesha is currently in Greece shooting a song for Boney Kapoor’s Wanted. The groom-to-be confirms, “When Ayesha heard the news of the attacks, she broke down. Dad (SP party leader Abu Azmi), was in a hospital recuperating from an operation; he too started crying when he heard about the terrorist attacks. None of us are in the mood for any celebrations this year. Our mood is too grim and somber. There can be no wedding celebrations as of now maybe mid-2009 and that too it will be a small and private affair.”

Farhan adds, “We are all shaken up by what happened. I saw it happening next door, as Nariman House is seven buildings away from our home and very close to the Taj and Oberoi hotels. When the Oberoi was sealed, many guests came from there to Koyla and Café Basilico (both owned by Farhan). None wanted to stay, so I took them home. On the first night from Koyla, which is 500m away from the Taj, we could see the fire burning on the sixth floor and hear women and children screaming to be let out ‘please help us’… It still gives me goose bumps to even think about it.”

Ayesha had informed all her producers and directors that she will quit acting after she gets married and she intended to wrap all her committments before December.

Its East meets West as India’s star of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan is all set to share screen space with the most iconic actor of Hollywood Robert Di Niro. They are going to work together on a film directed by Paul Schrader.

A source reports, “The Hollywood director had made a secret trip to Mumbai a couple of months back for location hunting. The person who was assisting him throughout the trip was director Anubhav Sinha, who was instrumental in bringing the director to Mumbai and will be collaborating with Schrader on the project. The film will be shot extensively in New York, Mumbai and Dubai.”

“Yes, we are working on a big project that will involve A-list stars from both Hollywood and Bollywood. But I won’t be able to reveal details right away,” confirms Anubhav.

“Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, has confirmed that Paul Schrader has already had a preliminary discussion about the film when he was in Paris at that time.

Sources say that Bachchan has okayed the project and all actors, including Robert De Niro, will be given a bound script of the film by March next year. All the actors are expected to sign on the dotted line by that time and shooting will begin from April 2009,” adds the source.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are not getting married until a few years. But since they cant stay apart any more they have decided to live in before they settle down. They have bought a new apartment that they have asked Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna to design.

“I have told Saif that I will be giving him points while working with him for Karan’s film and only after the schedule is over will I decide whether he has become my favorite co-star or not. I love the story as its set against a different backdrop. My favorite co-star is Akshay Kumar as there’s a great comfort level while working with him. Lolo and I are also very close to Akshay`s wife Twinkle who is designing Saif`s and my flat in Bandra”, a news daily quoted Kareena as saying.

Kareena was rather sure that if she marries saif at the peak of her career she will ruin her prospects in the industry.

A close source reveals, “Kareena doesn’t want to marry so soon. She is just 27 and still has atleast 6-7 more years to go before she goes her sister Karisma’s way. Karisma got married only after she felt she had achieved something in her career as an actress. Saif is madly in love with Kareena and wanted to marry her as soon as possible. But Kareena is reluctant. So both, with the consent of their families have decided to live-in before they get married.”
